Resource Looking to Offer Services Locally in Redbridge

17 September 2010

Redbridge residents attended a presentation by Resource, the Jewish Employment Advice Centre on 16th September at Sinclair House, the Jewish community centre in Ilford. Resource supports all members of the Jewish community who are out of work, for any reason, and seeking employment

Since its inception Resource, from its base in Finchley, has helped over 8000 people back to work. The purpose of the meeting was to establish whether there is sufficient demand for Resource to run a satellite service at Sinclair House. This would save local residents travelling to Finchley to get support.

Emma May and Gillian Gurner from Resource.s Executive Committee gave a presentation outlining how job seekers are supported. Initial membership is for up to six months with one-to-one advice from their personal Advisor, a series of ten topical and very relevant seminars and the Centre.s own Networking Department. All this assistance is confidential, and free thanks to the generous support of Resource donors.

Attendees completed a brief questionnaire at the end of the evening and Resource is now analysing the best way to support unemployed members of the Jewish community in Redbridge.

Any local person who was unable to attend the meeting can contact Resource by calling the Centre Director Alan Shapiro on 020 8346 4000
