Recruitment Professionals guide Resource Clients with Top Tips
At a recent industry networking session held by Resource, the Jewish Employment Advice Centre, delegates were treated to the benefits and insights of how to maximise their relationship with a recruitment agency from the people who know best: the recruitment agents!
Newly introduced this year, Resource’s networking sessions are an excellent way for clients to build new industry contacts, reacquaint with existing ones and keep abreast of market developments in a given market sector. In this session, clients were also treated to recruitment industry wisdom designed to support clients in making the most of their agency networks.
All recruiters agreed on the following key points when approaching recruitment agencies:
- Try and achieve a face-to-face meeting so that the recruiter can buy into you.
- Present yourself well as if you were going to an interview. Remember the recruiter has to sell you to the employer.
- Have a well developed CV with no spelling mistakes. Ask your Advisor at Resource to work with you to produce a marketable CV. Your CV is your story and it’s important to include any changes and updates.
- Build a relationship with the recruiter and keep them posted about any changes. Remind them weekly about you.
- Take the opportunity while job searching to increase your skills by taking courses, exploring work experience opportunities, volunteering and of course networking, to keep your skills sharp and contemporary.
Resource will continue to roll out its programme of popular and successful networking sessions to clients throughout the year.
