Our dedicated advisors offer clients the highest level of one-to-one advice and support, thanks to their knowledge and professionalism.  All our advisors have achieved success in a variety of industries and businesses.


David Arnold  

David Arnold – Advisor & Facilitator

Since leaving school David has started and built up a number of businesses.  He is currently chairman of a tour operating company and has interests in the printing and property industries.  He is Chair of the London Lay Observers (involved in prison visiting and care of prisoners whilst in custody) and is Chair of Governors of Manor Lodge School.

Having set up a number of businesses, David also facilitates and helps in the design of the seminar Start Your Own Business.


Jonathan Bergwerk - Advisor

Jonathan is an HR & Organisational Development professional with extensive experience in providing consultancy services to major organisations undergoing change. He started and grew Advanced Personnel Technology to a multimillion pound venture, employing a staff of 20, before selling it and working more recently on a freelance basis.


Barbara Carter - Advisor 

Barbara is a qualified HR professional (MA in HR Management) and Chartered Member of CIPD who currently has her own consultancy providing clients, both in the private and not for profit sectors, with a full range of HR services. Prior to this, Barbara was Head of HR Policy and Reward for Citizens Advice and has worked mainly in the voluntary and communal sectors.  

Jean Glynn  

Jean Glynn - Advisor

For many years Jean has run her own business as an executive search consultant working across different industry sectors, including consumer products, banking and management consulting. Jean’s earlier career was with a major multinational in HR with roles in management development, recruitment including graduate, and manufacturing.   She has also worked in Sales/Telesales.  Most recently she worked with senior executives on Career Transitions


Gillian Gurner  

Gillian Gurner – Advisor & Facilitator

Gillian is a qualified HR professional (MA in HR Management) who has worked mainly in the voluntary sector – social care and international development – and social care/education/health in the public sector.   With previous experience in the catering, retail and utilities sectors she has also run her own office services business and undertaken CAB advisory work.  As well as being an advisor Gillian facilitates and helps in the design of a number of the Resource seminars.

Mark Heineman  

Mark Heineman - Advisor

Mark is an HR professional with a career that has encompassed senior HR roles with blue chip companies such as Tesco and BAA to working with smaller companies employing a few dozen people.  He is now developing a portfolio HR career alongside volunteering with Resource.  Additionally, he is a keen photographer and takes the role of official photographer at Resource events.

Galia Moran  

Galia Moran – Psychometric Profiling

Galia holds an MSc in Occupational Psychology and is a member of the British Psychological Society.  She is a fully trained Level A & B Occupational Test Assessor.  She is a volunteer at Jewish Care in the Learning and Development Department and supports the HR Department.  Galia was presented with a 'Contribution to Organisational Management' Award at Jewish Care in July 2012.

Ruth Musgrave  

Ruth Musgrave – Advisor & Facilitator

Ruth has a background in Human Resources (MCIPD) and has worked in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors.  She is an independent assessor, interviewer and facilitator with experience of working on recruitment and development campaigns for the Civil Service, BBC, TfL and College of Policing.  She has a BA in Human Resource Management, and holds the British Psychological Society Level A and B qualifications in occupational testing.  Ruth also helped design and facilitate the seminar Using Your Competencies to Strengthen Your Application.

Melanie Pearl  

Melanie Pearl – Advisor & Facilitator

Melanie is a qualified HR professional (MCIPD) who has worked in the private, public and voluntary sectors, and now runs her own HR & Interim Management consultancy providing advice to leaders in the private, public and voluntary sectors.  She also provides Career Coaching. In addition to being an advisor Melanie facilitates and helps in the design of a number of Resource's seminars and is the resident ‘expert’ for Resource on the Jewish News ‘Ask the Expert' feature.

Andrea Pinner  

Andrea Pinner - Advisor

Andrea is a qualified Careers Consultant with a Post Graduate Diploma in Careers Guidance and she holds the Qualification in Careers Guidance from the Career Development Institute. Her earlier career was as an IT Project Manager, working for organisations that include LloydsTSB, Sainsburys and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Andrea took a career break before re-training and is also an ex-client of Resource, so she is well aware of the challenges facing returners to work and those wanting to change career mid-life.



Peter Rosenthal  

Peter Rosenthal - Advisor

Peter was chief executive of a company operating a gas-fired power station and, now semi - retired, he is part-time chairman working mainly on legal matters.  Before this, as a qualified solicitor, he ran the legal department of a quoted manufacturing conglomerate; later becoming a director of the same company with responsibility for two international groups of subsidiaries in the plastics and packaging industries.  He has also had a number of non executive directorships and is a pension trustee.

Claire Straus  

Claire Straus - Advisor

Claire is a Career Coach with a background in senior management, having worked in both human resources and general management.  With experience of private, public and voluntary sectors, she provides mentoring and support to individuals and teams and has run training programmes in the UK and abroad. She has recently completed her MSc in Career Management and Coaching.


Gerry Temple - Advisor

Gerry retired from a career in management consultancy with the PA Group where he specialised in large project and major programme management.  He has specialised in rescuing large IT projects that had run into trouble and has advised Government and industry on all aspects of large project design, management and delivery. Gerry was also the Resource Manager for his practice within PA overseeing the deployment and development of 300 consulting staff throughout Europe.




Lesley Trenner


Lesley Trenner - Advisor

Lesley worked in the private sector and in academia before developing her career with the global pharmaceutical GlaxoSmithKline where she progressed through increasingly senior roles in IT, business change management, people development and corporate communication.  She was selected as an in-house leadership coach, was an assessor on the graduate recruitment programme and acted as a mentor and coach to colleagues at all levels.  She now runs her own coaching practice helping people with career development and issues around 'ageing parents'.



Karen Danker - Advisor

Karen Danker is an independent career coach and a consultant for Timewise, a social business whose mission is to shape and grow a quality flexible hiring market. In her coaching practice Karen works with clients to help them make career decisions that chime with their values and play to their strengths. At Timewise Karen consults with organisations to help them explore the business benefits of proactively offering flexibility so that they can attract, develop and progress talent. Karen started her career as a solicitor before moving into recruitment and leadership development.
