Main Duties
BKL’s Tax Consultancy team provides a high-quality advisory service across a diverse range of tax matters to both high-net-worth individuals and corporate entities. The continued growth of the team has created an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Manager to join our Employment Taxes service line and support the delivery of work in this key and expanding area.

The successful candidate will have solid UK Employment Taxes experience gained in practice and/or industry. They will be proactive and detail-oriented, with strong technical foundations and a growing commercial awareness. You’ll enjoy working collaboratively with colleagues, building client relationships, and contributing to the ongoing development of our Employment Taxes offering while continuing to build your own expertise.

How You’ll Make a Difference
In this role, you will:

Manage and deliver a wide range of Employment Tax advisory and compliance projects, ensuring work is completed to a high technical standard.
Act as a key point of contact for clients on UK Employment Taxes matters, including some mobility matters and National Minimum Wage ("NMW") work.
Manage Employment Tax due diligence reviews in support of corporate transactions.
Provide guidance and oversight on Construction Industry Scheme ("CIS") matters.
Draft, review and finalise advisory reports, technical memoranda and client communications across a broad range of Employment Taxes matters.
Conduct technical research and communicate legislative developments and emerging issues to clients and colleagues.
Build and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities to add value and support business growth.
Support business development activities, including proposals, networking opportunities, technical content and marketing initiatives.
Coach, mentor and review the work of junior team members, supporting their professional development.
Work closely with senior stakeholders to contribute to the continued growth and success of the Employment Taxes service line.
Qualifications and Experience
You’ll Be Ideal for This Role If You Have:

Qualifications
CTA qualified, or equivalent (Desired, but not essential).

Experience
6–8 years' substantive UK Employment Taxes experience gained in practice and/or industry.
Strong experience delivering employment tax advisory projects and managing client relationships.
Experience of transaction-related employment tax due diligence work desirable.
Good exposure across the employment tax compliance cycle, including P11Ds, PSA, ERS, PBIK, CIS and STBV matters.
Experience reviewing work and supporting the development of junior colleagues.

Additional information
Hours: Monday to Friday, 35 hour week (Flexitime)
