Welcome to the Resource Community

Becoming a member of Resource Community is the next step for Resource clients who have successfully found employment or started a business.

As an alumni of Resource, being part of our community will not only be valuable to you in your career, but it will enable you to return something to Resource that will help current jobseekers get back into work as soon as possible.

Networking, as you know, is a vital activity to keep up at all stages of your career, and as part of the Resource Community of hundreds of former clients you will be invited to events to meet others in your industry, practice your networking skills, develop new skills and keep up with Resource colleagues that you met during your journey at Resource.

All members of the Resource Community are asked to do 3 things:

1. Information - Use your knowledge and experience to help us to point clients towards specific industry knowledge. Let us know of useful websites, LinkedIn groups, trade magazines, training and/or qualifications that are important in your industry.

2. Introductions - You may be asked to give advice to a Resource client or to make introductions for them, to help them progress in a particular field and perhaps help them to develop solutions to career issues.

3. Identify Opportunities - Be on the lookout for, and inform us of job opportunities. There may be vacancies in the company that you work for, or you may learn of vacancies in another organisation that you’re aware of. Please pass them on to us.

Resource Community links up with LinkedIn

75 past clients and volunteer professionals from Resource came together at LinkedIn’s London office on Thursday 29 November to improve their knowledge of how to create and maintain a successful presence on key business-orientated social media such as LinkedIn.

The event was Resource’s thank you to our Resource Community members for their on-going support.

Guests heard from Roanna Russell, a previous LinkedIn manager, on how having a strong profile can be a powerful tool in establishing trust with potential employers.   ‘Lean In Through LinkedIn’ website’s community manager Vered Zimmerman spoke about the importance of being an active participant on LinkedIn and Resource client advisor Jonathan Bergwerk discussed how to re-boot your profile to make certain it stands out.

Resource Chief Executive Victoria Sterman said: “We’re proud of the great work the Resource Community alumni do in helping current clients.   It’s a wonderful way of giving something back, and the event was our way of showing our gratitude.   The evening produced lively and productive debate.”
