On June 25th, Resource alumni gathered for an inspiring evening at BKL’s London offices to explore how to thrive in today’s fast-moving digital job market. From expert-led talks to meaningful networking, the event was a celebration of confidence, adaptability and the enduring power of the Resource community.
Last week, Resource brought together our amazing alumni community for an evening of connection, insight, and inspiration—generously hosted by BKL at their London office.
Themed Career Progression in a Digital Landscape, the event offered a chance for former clients to reconnect, share their journeys, and hear from expert speakers about how to stand out and succeed in a fast-changing world.
Standing Out in a Competitive Market
Claire Straus, experienced Career Coach and Facilitator, opened the evening with an empowering talk on how to thrive in a crowded job market. Her message was clear: staying visible, curious, and courageous is key to long-term growth.
“If you’re not getting rejected, you’re not aiming high enough.”
Claire encouraged attendees to embrace rejection as a sign of ambition, and to keep showing up, asking questions, and taking ownership of their development—whether in transition or thriving in work.
Tech Confidence in the Digital Age
Claire was followed by an engaging interview between Resource’s Lynne Gayer and Katia Zavershinskaya, Head of Digital Transformation at BKL. Katia shared valuable insights into how technology is reshaping the workplace—and why digital confidence is vital.
“Technology underpins everything we do… AI is meant to prompt you, not live as you.”
She reassured attendees that adopting new tools doesn’t mean becoming a tech expert overnight. Instead, the key is to stay open, adaptable, and authentic.
A Community That Lasts
The evening closed with lively networking and heartfelt alumni reflections. From those celebrating promotions to others still on the job search, the shared message was one of gratitude and progress.
“They’re always there,” said alumnus Sophia, praising Resource’s ongoing support.
“I recommend everyone I know.”
CEO Victoria Sterman summed up the spirit of the night perfectly:
“Our aim is to give people the courage and confidence to apply for roles they’re afraid of. Anyone can do it—sometimes they just need a nudge.”
