• ChatGPT works by using Large Language Models to analyse and generate text. When a user inputs a prompt, ChatGPT generates a response that is similar to what a human might say in that context..
• ChatGPT is free to use for anyone with an account on OpenAI's website. There are no usage limits on the free version, though the latest version does have limits. There is a "ChatGPT Plus" subscription plan. It offers reliable availability when demand is high, faster response speeds, and access to the latest features. You don’t need this option. You can use ChatGPT through Copilot on Windows 11.
• You access Chat GPT by:
  • 1. Typing chat.openai.com in your web browser or downloading the mobile app for Android / iPhone.
  • 2. Signing up for a free OpenAI account.
  • 3. Clicking New Chat at the top-left corner of the page.
  • 4. Typing a question or prompt and press Enter to start using ChatGPT. You can use informal words - type what you would say. Getting the question right is key to getting the most out of ChatGPT e.g. “How can I use ChatGPT in my job search?”
  • 5. ChatGPT will give a response in real time. If you don't think the response was good enough, then explain why (give feedback) as specifically as you can and ask it to try again.
  • ✓ You can ask how to do a good prompt e.g. “What is the best way to write a prompt for ChatGPT?”
  • ✓ You can specify if you'd prefer a more formal or casual style in the conversation
  • ✓ You can check accuracy: ”indicate the percentage probability that your suggestions are correct?”
  • ✓ You can make ChatGPT play a role E.g. "Answer this as if you were the CEO."
  • ✓ You can use it to get facts e.g. “Please search for current news on the job market in London”
